Hello Paul,

It's good to know there is some interest. Open sourcing the code is something I've thought about for a while but haven't made a final decision on. Processing and data conversion is a substantial business so I'm not entirely surprised by how little FOSS there is for litsupport. I wrote my own because I have extensive experience working with MIME email using Perl and wanted more flexibility than what I could get with other solutions. In addition to working with EDRM XML, I have also performed MIME to PST conversion. I know others also use Perl for this type of work; however, it appears most of this is not open sourced.

Here are some answers to your questions.

EDRM XML creation: At this time, I do not have plans to write MIME to EDRM XML conversion code but never say never.

CPAN Email modules: I believe in code reuse. For email, I use Email::MIME and Email::Simple. I am also a fan of Moose.

Distribution: Any Perl code I open source would be posted to the CPAN.

License: The code would likely be released under the Artistic License, the same as Perl itself.
