Summation has a script that creates a DII file based on the contents of the
table in Summation, Richard. You can contact their solutions development
department, I believe, to obtain it. I'm assuming your client has Summation
if they're asking for a DII file.

Susan,

Thanks for the input, greatly appreciated. Actually, this is for a client
who will need a "one click" solution and be able to repeat it on a regular
basis, so it has to be relatively simple.

I will tuck this away for future use, however.

Richard:

If they are multi-page TIFs and the TIF name is the image link (DOCID or
BEGDOC#) you can
do it
without a utility using Word/WP.

- pipe a DOS file listing DIR *.TIF > TIFList.txt /b
- pull the piped listing into Word
- copy the list in DOC1
- paste it into a new document DOC2
- in DOC1 strip the .TIF and turn the list into a table
- in DOC2 turn the list into a table
- copy the column in DOC2 to the clipboard
- paste it into the table after Col1 in DOC1
- you now have the DocID in one column and the TIF in another
- strip the table back to text separating the columns with a Tab
- convert every instance of a paragraph mark ^P with ^p@T[space]
- convert every instance of Tab to:
^p@D[space]@I[path]^p
- fix the top and the bottom of the list manually
- there is your DII file

Things are trickier if the situation is different. Then you need to write a
macro to deal
with whatever the
pattern is that you have.
